Update Your Look
There's a shop-a-holic
in all of us. So when a new season hits, it's hard to restrain ourselves
from buying, or at least wanting, a whole new wardrobe. In reality, all
we need are a few chic updates to our look, and then our old jeans, last
year's blazer and fave scarf are new again. Not sure where to begin? I've
put together a quick list of 'how-to's' guaranteed to take the war
out of wardrobe.
1.Bring out the
jewels. (Jewel tones, that is.) The quickest way to chic up your old
blues is to add a dash of color
by way of a silky tank. Deep greens, blues and reds are the most popular
hues.
2. Bold is beautiful. A pair
of leather gloves or some bold
jewelry (I just love elaborate
brooches on sweaters) will turn frumpy to fabu!
3. Go soft.
Fashion shows its comfortable side with the stylish yet functional UGG
boots. Am hoping for an extra cold winter so I can debut my sassy
'Eskimo jeans-tucked-in-my-UGG-boots look.'
4. Put some color into your life. Yeah, yeah, we've all heard that
brown, red and pink are the new black at some time or another,
but how many of us have really expunged black from our wardrobe? Not a
one. However, just throw in a day-glo
accessory and you've totally transformed your standbys.Everyone at
she she me HQ is longing for some
pumps
in our signature color.
5. Boy meets girl. I know we thought androgynous dressing came
and went with Annie Hall (give or take some experimental celebrities),
but suddenly 'mannish'
is chic. Not head to toe by any stretch of the imagination, but at least
one item. To nail this tricky and potentially disastrous look, pair your
most feminine
skirt with a masculine
coat.
6. Return to junior high. It was a painful time to say the least,
but the knee
socks were darling and now they're just perfect with our minis. With
these chi
chi coverings there is simply NO excuse for bare legs this winter.
Trust me, a little
updating can go a long way. And now that you can cut your shopping list
in half, you'll have more green for holiday party dresses. Talk about
spending money wisely.
Cheers,
Shop Girl
