Fall-ing for Fashion
I am in love, big time - with fall fashions. I know, I sound wackier than she she me and her precious sound-a-like, but it's true. In fact, I'm thinking that all of my wardrobe planning and plumping will probably leave me very little time for dating.
Shocking, I know. Fall was made for dating, what with coffee shop rendezvous, football games and park outings. Of course, she she me, ever the voice of reason, reminded me that I'll need to go somewhere to actually show off my fall fashions. Thus, a full social calendar is a must.

Anyway, let me tell you about my latest obsessions - plural. (A fashion monogamist I'm not.) I had to list them because in cases of extreme excitement I tend to get that 'just-before-you-plunge-down-a-roller-coaster/night-before-a-huge-party' feeling in my stomach and go completely blank. (This happens often when I'm exposed to tables of shoes, rows of bags and racks of designer duds. In an effort to control myself I need to be prepared.)

My Fall Love List:

Obsession #1 - Tweed. I'll take it on anything from a bag or shoe (won't rest until these Pradas are my own), to a skirt, and of course the highly sought-after cropped jacket. I'm crazy for the prim yet masculine fabric.

Obsession #2 - A poncho. This trend is staying put for fall, so if you passed on spring, I wouldn't recommend doing so this season.

Obsession #3 - Brooches. I'm pinning these vintage-esque jewels on bags, shoes, as clasps on sweaters and necklaces.

Obsession #4 - Ankle boots.icon I have to say, I am quite taken with how these booties iconlook with pencil skirts.

Obsession #5 - Black shirt. It's the new white button-down, but chicer.

Obsession #6 - Skinny jeans. Reserve your wide-leg fit for sleek trousers.

Obsession #7 - Purple - any shade. It's the new pink.
(I think I just heard she she me gasp.) I absolutely live for this oversized T-neck lilac sweater.
(Trina Turk, $178,
Scout & Molly's 919.848.8732)

Obsession #8 - A jeweled top. It will complete my whole 'day-to-night' look.

Obsession #9 - A fitted blazer. This perennial classic resurfaces; this time pair it with a silky tank.

Obsession #10 - A sweater vest. Before you think I've totally lost it - think of the sexy/bohemian school girl look. Trust me, a shrunken vest over a flirty dress equals instant cool.

Now, I'll just add some of my fall 'crushes' into the mix
(something animal print, a prim skirt, a fedora and some glam flatsicon) and I'll be totally satisfied. What a perfect (and convenient) love affair. Mmmm, if only I had somewhere to go.

ta ta,
