Star Style Hits
Main Street
I'll be the first to admit (and she she me will definitely agree)
that I'm star struck. I've tried Courteney Cox's tousled locks (sans
corn rows and shells), Debra Messing's long coats and embellished
handbag. And who didn't do Gwynnie's Blue Cult/Black button-down
ensemble? I can't help it - I feel a little (scratch that - a lot)
cooler if I'm donning celebrity styles. And thankfully for she she
girls, there's Language.com
and their star-studded inventory to help get us (and keep us) looking
prime for Tinsel Town.
Let's start
with shoes.
I'm all over the Pucci
Printed Leather Heel. The shape is divine, the print positively
Pucci, and the heel sexy as all get out. In three words: red carpet
worthy.
Now, we must
talk tops.
For day, I'm torn between the Fevered
Deviant White Paper Doll Top and the Paul
and Joe Black Cat 3/4 Sleeve T. Both seem to be the kind of
shirts stars wear on their sitcoms or in those casual scenes in
the movies -- the scenes where you want to freeze-frame and try
to capture their coolness. For night, I'm pretty much set on the
Tyler
by Richard Tyler Chocolate Wrap Halter. I can just see it for
cocktails. At once sophisticated, chic and downtown cool. Plus,
the tie hanging down the back is très glamorous.
And every
girl/star must find one great pair of slacks
for dress and one never-fail pair of jeans.
The pants will be Language
charcoal wool with silk detail. I love that they're not black.
As such, you're sure to make a statement. And stars always make
statements. Now, the jeans. Oh, the jeans. While I'm always true
to my PD&Cs,
I must admit a very strong craving for Citizen
for Humanity. (Named for our fave Kate Hudson.) As she she me
always says, nothing updates a wardrobe as cheaply as a new pair
of jeans. Add to that the photos in every fashion mag of celebs
trotting about in denim and you have all the justification necessary
for a little indulgence.
As for dresses...oh,
the dresses. I think I need the one
shoulder number for my Cameron Diaz nights and one of Ashley
Isham's orange jersey knit dresses for a smidgeon of Ashley
Judd. After all, it takes all types...
And to wrap
it up, we must address our outerwear. After all, in the winter
months, it's our coat that we're known for as much as our duds underneath.
Top three star-style choices:
1) Language
black Alpaca trench because everyone needs a trench (star or
not).
2) Marc
by Marc Jacobs Plaid Wool Jacket for a bit of preppy chic. (This
branches away from typical star wear, but it's important to make
our own statement as we enter Tinsel Town.)
3) Language
Ivory Cashmere Wool belted cardigan. It seems very casual/interview-ish
and appropriate for meeting writers in coffee shops to discuss upcoming
films.
I think that
will do us for now. Now all you need is a wrecked love affair and
perhaps photos of you caught on the way to yoga and you'll be positively
famous.
Smile for the
cameras, my sweets!
