Just Out
of Retox
Summer is finally over and I'm free to lift my self-imposed ban
on shopping. Am brimming with excitement of what's to come, as fall
is my very favorite season of fashion. My list is already a mile
long and am dizzy at the thought of a closet filled with super-chic
fall treats.
This fall I'll
be chic every day of the week. I'll be ladylike and prim
in velvet and edgy in denim (for day only). This season I will not
step out of the house with out a look (one that everyone will recognize).
This is my pledge and I tend to keep it.
Having stated
my season's fashion goals, I settled myself in front of my PC, armed
with my September issues and a Diet Coke, and went straight to shopbop.com.
(They are my most trusted online shopping advisors, and I'm pretty
much guaranteed to leave the site a satisfied customer.) Am now
eagerly awaiting my packages and mentally planning my outfits for
the first official month of fall.
In my shopping
cart:
1) My Daytime chic look: Skinny
leg jeans by Citizens of Humanity and an oversized turtleneck
sweater, which could pass as your boyfriend's. I'll add ballet
flats to complete my 'out running errands' look. (If you're
unsure about purchasing denim online, never fear because the thoughtful
crew at shopbop.com has added
a guide
to help you and your body type find a pair.)
2) My casual yet still fashion-conscious weekend look (can also
double as my 'off to yoga' look): Juicy
Couture Cashmere Hoody and Cashmere
Pants. (In straying from my mandated signature color,
I went with pink.)
If you haven't slipped into one of these suits you haven't lived
- seriously. They're that comfortable and totally chic.
3) My Dinner & Drinks Look: Tailored
black pants and a sexy
silk top. Since this season denim is mainly 9-5, cocktails and
dinners are stepping it up a notch. And thanks to Theory, we'll
never be caught without a pair of flattering black pants.
4) For shopping with friends: V-neck
sweater with collar (should maybe reconsider orange and go with
pink) and a flirty
skirt. I'll add a sleek
carry-all and try a beret (on my extremely fashion-forward days).
5) Something tweed: I just can't resist this patch-pocket
skirt. Will be just perfect with the arsenal of tights I splurged
on.
6) My mini.
Enough said.
7) My coat. A fun
animal print number, because the prints are finally back. (That
is, they're fashionably acceptable.)
Having put in
a full day at the computer, I'm off for a refresher at my nail salon.
As I wait for my fall Looks to arrive, I've already begun my next
wish list.
Cheers,
Shopgirl
