The
Look for Less
Let's face it, we're slaves to fashion. At least everyone at she she me
HQ is. We can't help it - all of the glossy pages, the endless outfits
and the latest must-haves. All of the seasons and trends past just fade
deeper into the closet.
I have to tell you,
fall is no brisk picnic on the ole leather wallet (newly purchased of
course) and I'm looking to expand the wardrobe without depleting the funds.
I know a good number of you feel my pain and so I've taken it upon myself
to hunt for the fall looks for less. Let's call it DDD (Designer
Duds at Discount). I have to say, 'bargain' shopping can
be a bit of a thrill. It does take awhile longer and you do have to be
wardrobe self-sufficient, but its well worth the time and lack
of money spent. Some of our most trusted retailers look great for fall
and I'm quite sure I've found a few items that are guaranteed to bring
the runway home.
My Short List
1.Thick skin. If you can't bag the Prada croc (and you're not alone),
check out Dooney
and Bourke's equally chic and wonderfully cheap (as in price not quality)
skin tote. You can even order it in your signature color.
2. A bit of tweed. I love GAP's
tweed pencil. (Solve 2 trends with one peice.) While you're there,
pick up one of their extra-long
mufflers.
3.Am dying for these gloves,
but these chic drivers by Banana Republic are an easier purchase.
4.Sleek Bag. I live for this hot
pink number.
5.And for the feet. . . Bluefly.com
is my Mecca for discount shoe shopping. There is no better place for boots.
Its not really fall until you have your boots.

Bryce Harris
It's never too soon to start planning your Holiday party ensemble. And
now that denim is strictly 9-5
we've got to hit the shops in search of satin and velvet and maybe even
some tulle of we're really daring. Before you join the crowds and inevitably
end up with the same dress as your two closest frenemies, you must check
out the sophisticated designs of the Atlanta-based designer,
Bryce Harris. It's our very own 'Sweet Home Alabama' story;
as this southern designer is sure to make it big.
Her collection boasts
everything from sleek
pantsuits and stunning
gowns to flirty
cocktail dresses. Need a chic top to pair with some classic pants?
Her sexy
tuxedo top is sure to guarantee time under the mistletoe.
And now that she's
launched her online
shopping site, chi chi girls everywhere can take advantage of her
sassy designs. I have my eye on the pleated
georgette strapless number. Very SJP, don't you think? I'll be the
picture of party perfection in it.
If you're in the NYC
area on October 2, 2003, stop by 235 West End Ave, Apartment
10 BC (cross street is 71st), for a super chic trunk show. The designer
will be taking special orders for her fall collection. Triangle girls
are in for a treat as Bryce Harris
will be at she she me's Tinsel
Town on November 6. She's bringing her fall collection and will be
personal
taking orders. You wouldn't want to miss out on scoring the perfect
cocktail dress, would you? 'Twould be a true fashion misstep.
