The Look: Everyday
Chic
So we've
solved the dilemmas of dressing for a tennis
match (or at least looking like you're going to one), an afternoon
wedding and the many showers
you'll attend, but what about our everyday attire? What or who dictates
our daily dress? This question poses a bigger fashion problem than high
tea at the Daytona 500. (Um, what would you wear?) Day-to-day
dressing can get tricky. We've all had the feeling that there's only one
skirt in our closet, or that our once-chic black top is in heavy wardrobe
rotation.
Anyone who has battled
a 'false
sense of cuteness' can attest that Everyday Chic is a tough look to
conquer. It's reserved for magazine types and ladies who lunch; clearly
not for the average female. However, I believe that by building an outfit
around a signature piece we too can be chic everyday. Thus we at she
she me have put our well-coiffed
heads together and have come up with the Beau
Beater.
Signature Piece:
The

|
We've taken
a boy beater, added one of the hottest trends of the season (a bow)
and made it super chi chi. The bow can be tied on one strap or over
both
straps, pulling them together and making a keyhole silhouette
(super sexy). Just think, you'll be a chic present. Who could resist?
(Available for
purchase on shesheme.com. Or call 919-835-9151 to place orders over
the phone. The Beau Beater package comes with a black tank, one
solid black ribbon and one solid fuchsia ribbon.)

The Beau Beater can
work with a number of bottoms to create an effortlessly chic
ensemble. My fave complements are a full skirt, a pair of jeans (of course),
and sophisticated trousers. It even looks great with seersucker.
It's perfect for everything from shopping to cocktails. With a chic blazer
you can even take this look to the office (some offices, anyway).
Skirt,
Milly, $268, shesheme.com. Pair this casually chic outfit with
cute
flops.

Jeans,
Red
Engine $96, shesheme.com. Add a pair of sexy slings & it's
perfect for a night out. |
Pants,
Milly,
$183, shesheme.com. This outfit says "elegant without trying."
Great for lunches, casual meetings and chic outings. Try it with pointy-toe
pumps. |
There you have it,
the answer to being everyday chic is in a little tank. Now there is no
excuse for us to pull on jeans and the same ole T day after day.
