Fall into Style: Fabulous Looks for Fall
You know, there is nothing like an all expense paid trip to Fashion Week in NYC to put a girl in a really great mood. Unless, of course, it is the anticipation of said trip! Which is what has put this twirty girl in an incredibly good mood for the past week, especially since I had to forego last year's Fashion Week junket due to that unfortunate incident involving a gorgeous pair of skyscrapers, an overloaded armful of swag and the office carpet (which resulted in a wretchedly sprained ankle). I am taking no chances this year. I am sticking with chic flats and low wedges just to be on the safe side. Thankfully, there are tons of gorgeous styles out there to choose from this season, so I can continue to present a chic, stylish and sophisticated image at all times. But I digress…
Anyhoo, back to the trip. And the anticipation of such. It is kind of like the week before Christmas. You know, where everything looks brighter and shinier because of the prospect of what you might find under the tree come Christmas morning? But it's even better than that! Because, as you may recall from childhood, once those packages are opened and the wrapping paper and ribbons are all gathered up and stuffed into the recycling bin (never let it be said that She She isn't ecologically conscious), there is the inevitable letdown. Not so with a trip to Fashion Week! Not only is it an entire week of fabulous fashions and festivities, but the minute those tents come down I am on a mission to incorporate the latest styles and trends into my already stylish and trendy wardrobe. Which all boils down to a whole lot of fun (for me!)
And speaking of stylish and trendy, you have got to check out this fabulous new website I found! Fredboutique.com! Recently featured in Marie Claire magazine as the “sexiest city in the country” Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the home to fredboutique.com. Fred Boutique is the fashionista’s hub for all of her fashion forward needs. They only offer clients the latest trends and styles that rival those you see in magazines and on television for a fraction of the price. Since they buy direct from the manufacturers before other companies have the chance to put their expensive label on, they are able to keep their prices affordable! At Fredboutique.com it is their mission to make sure you know that you are the most beautiful woman in the world! here is what stylish girls are on the lookout for this fall:
5 Fabulous Looks for Fall
Flirty Dress with Belted Cardigan: This is a great look to carry you from late summer into fall. Pair a floral or patterned dress with a drapey cardigan. Cinch the waist with a skinny belt in a bright patent or tooled leather. Opaque tights and a mid-heel lace-up shoe pull the look together. Finish with an antique chain necklace, a funky bracelet and a leather satchel style bag.
Country Girl: No, not cowboy boots and bandanas. More of a ramble through heather-strewn moors look: plaids and tweeds, corduroy and angora. A great pair of plaid trousers worn with a girly turtleneck sweater (love the pleated shoulders on this one!) and topped with a chic trench coat. Slip into a pair of mid-calf boots, grab a gorgeous bag and tuck your hair up into a knit cap. An more modern take on country is a long, full skirt (added warmth!) paired with a crew neck or scoop neck sweater (tucked in and cinched with a wide belt) and a sleek cropped jacket. Pair with opaque tights, amazing booties and a chic cross-body bag. Finish the look with a silk scarf knotted 'round your neck and a big men swear style watch.
Sweater Dress with Tights: The ultimate in chic day wear. I just adore a great sweater dress, not only for the style, but for the warmth when the days get chilly. My favorite sweater dress this fall is a scoop neck dress in a charcoal. Add warm tights and a pair of knee-high boots, or perhaps platform strappy sandals instead. Brighten up the look with a funky tiered chain at the neck. Complete the ensemble with a pair of chic earrings and a patent shoulder bag. This look can take you from work to play in no time flat.
Subversive Romantic: Kind of a toned-down girly goth. Sheer fabrics and ruffles paired with leather & lace. Fishnet and patterned stockings. Satin mules and fringed boots. Anything goes (almost!) Start with a great sheer flirty full skirt. Add a shimmery cami or tank, and top with a flirty cropped jacket or sweater. Slip a pair of sky high skyscrapers on over your patterned tights. Loops of chain, a stack of bangles and a biker chic bag and you are good to go!
American Preppy: This one is a total no-brainer darlings. Designer denim (natch), crew neck sweater & fitted jacket. Or Jackie-O/Cindy McCain/Michelle Obama sleeveless shift dress (what is it with Potential/Actual First Ladies and shift dresses anyway?) turtleneck, tights and booties. You can even go totally collegiate with khakis, button-down blouse and cardigan sweater! Footwear selections range from classic heeled leather boots (goes with everything) to platform pumps to Mary Janes. Be sure to toss in fun accessories like a great fringed scarf and a classic leather tote.
Well my lovelies, I've got a bag or two to pack, so I had better get a move on! Happy fall fashions!
