I Can Only Recommend Retail Therapy

Do you ever wonder how different your life would be if you hadn't been in a certain place at a certain time and therefore able to take full advantage of one of those little perks that life throws your way on occasion? Or if you were in that certain place at that certain time, but perhaps you were in a really bad mood, or your boyfriend had just dumped you, or some lunatic had snatched a positively divine pin-tucked blouse (perfect for so many ensembles!) right out from under your nose and it was on sale to boot, so because of extenuating circumstances a completely amazing career opportunity/new boyfriend/winning lottery ticket just passed you by? And you didn't even know it! I mean, who's to say that you weren't supposed to be standing outside that cute little boutique when Naomi Watts walked by laden with shopping bags, accidentally dropping the one containing her new adorable diaper bag, (seriously, this is so darling it could totally be a handbag!) which you promptly rescued for her while hailing her a cab, assisting her and her numerous packages into said cab and through your solicitous behavior immediately becoming her new BFF and godmother to her baby boy? (Honestly, it could happen!)

But I digress. Where was I? Oh yes. I thank my lucky stars that the Career Gods were smiling on me the day I met my über-chic mentor/boss, and thus, my life was forever changed (for the better I might add!) In fact, I had a horrible nightmare last night, in which I realized that my current life was all just a fantasy, and that in actuality I was still working at Granny Fannie's Candies (my old high school job), dipping buttercream chocolates by hand. In my dream, I was dipping candy as fast as I could, but like the old I Love Lucy episode, the conveyor belt was moving faster and faster and the candy was falling off onto the floor; and then suddenly I was stomping on piles of buttercream chocolates in a pair of gorgeous suede skyscrapers and my new Iisli cocktail dress which was smeared with melted chocolate! (A total nightmare in and of itself!) The conveyor belt just kept going faster and faster and the candy started flying all around, then bells started ringing and I just knew my old boss was going to come in and fire me for wearing high heels, a designer dress and no hair net! Thank heaven the ringing bell turned out to be my alarm clock and I was released from the trauma of this horrific nightmare! Keep having frightening flashbacks to the complete catastrophe of chocolate meeting suede!

Anyhoo, have decided that best way to dispel lingering negativity of said nightmare is with a good old session of retail therapy. It will definitely cure whatever ails you:

She She's Fave Footwear Finds:

• Absolutely adorable Mary Janes. Sophisticated enough for the office, but with a little touch of flirty girly-girl. Would look fabulous with pencil skirt and silky blouse.
• Also adorable convertible Mary Janes. How clever! The strap can swivel around back to double as a pump, or buckle around the front like a traditional Mary Jane! It's actually a great investment because you get two looks for the price of one!
• There is nothing as sexy as a t-strap! From a semi-demure black patent leather (Which would look absolutely divine with this unbelievably chic fairytale dress) to an amazing aqua slide (which is the perfect über-chic complement to this Milly halter dress.) And if you are in the market for the perfect shoes to wear with jeans, try these lovely leather t-straps from Hype.
• Put your most fashionable foot forward with this fall's must-have menswear style heels. Look for feminine details like ribbons and scallops. These tailored leather peep-toes have a definite vintage feel, and would be spectacular with a sleek pantsuit.
• Bump up the flirt factor with feminine sandals. A chic pair of gold metallic's is the perfect complement to your LBD. Or, for a funkier feel, go with a patterned sandal with a little added bling.

• A great pair of straight leg jeans is a must-have for fall, especially in a timeless style. A girly fitted blouse is ideal with these slim fitting jeans. I also adore these gorgeous little gems from Rock and Republic because of the sassy pockets! Set them off to perfection with leather ankle-strap sandals with great hardware details.
• These adorable fisherman's jeans have completely caught my fancy. Perfect for a weekend sail with my gorgeous beau! This cashmere pullover will be sheer perfection, as it does get a bit nippy on the high seas. And not to forget a darling pair of deck-friendly skimmers, and a pair of sassy shades to shield the eyes.
• And lest we forget, wide leg denim is all the rage this fall. This style looks best when worn with a slim fitting sweater and cropped jacket, or even a girly blouse and fitted blazer.

• This little number from Ella Moss is my new go-to dress for almost any occasion. Can be dressed up or toned down as the occasion demands. Also, looks fantastic with leggings! Wear with a saucy platform and add a supple leather satchel for all your girly goodies.
• A dream of a dress, from Diane von Furstenburg. The wrap style is one of my favorite, because it is so universally flattering, and the vibrant pattern is so stylish! A pair of sleek open-toe pumps and a fabulous handbag and you are good to go!
• Now, I know that a classic LBD is always a great investment, but when you can get the same ooomph factor in a deliciously rich color, go for it! This perfect little cocktail dress is ideal for a wedding reception, a dinner on the town, or dancing till dawn. These dressy slides will definitely bump up the glitz, as will this edgy necklace and gorgeous dangles.

• Yes, dearest girls, I am logging on as you are reading this to grab this summer-must-have from Angela Moore. I am in love with this adorable beaded sarong, which comes in a darling little mini-tote that is perfect for keeping track of sunglasses, lipgloss and cell phone while at the beach or pool. It also makes a great shawl for a cool evening.

• The dynamic duo from L'Bel Paris, the Libertage System. AM and PM expression line corrector, to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines from facial gestures. Because as we all know, it' best to Smile! (frowning causes wrinkles)
