Spring for Jeans!
I’m so angry at my gorgeous trenchcoat. If I didn’t love it so much, I’d burn it. Or maybe just throw it away, since I don’t really have any convenient coat-burning furnaces around.
Last night I shut the bottom of my lovely coat in the car door and drove around in the rain for 20 fricking minutes before figuring it out. It’s just so billowy! Then today I tripped over it on my way to the drycleaner (to get it cleaned, of course) and tore a hole in my favorite jeans. I just want to scream!
Actually, I did scream at the time. Pretty loudly. I got a lot of crazy looks so I’m trying to keep my rage quiet until it cools down.
Well, at least this turn of events gave me a great excuse to research spring jean styles! Plus I found this hip new glass beverage bottle from LifeFactory in the mail when I got home. I mean, it had Hubby’s name on it, but I’m pretty sure it’s for me. I’m the one with the gym membership, and this is clearly a workout accessory. So I’m totally in a better mood right now. Especially because I can now use said nifty new beverage bot tle over and over again without fear of toxic leaching and all that other nasty stuff that happens with plastics. I just love it when good things happen to good people, like me!
Anyway, I’m really loving the jeans this spring. I mean, I can continue to wear my hole-in-the-knee jeans and still be totally chic. Holes are back! Which leads me into the main point of this business: my three favorite spring jean trends.
Distressed: Ripped, torn, treated; distressed is all the rage. Great with a striped tee and drape vest. Maybe just grab some of your old jeans and run them over with the car a few times. Then call them “new.” Voila! Anyway, distressed peek-a-boo jeans are back this spring, so it looks like I’ll be able to wear my favorite jeans for a few more months without anyone questioning how they ripped. I may even add a few more well-placed tears.
Studded: My little sis bought me a fab studded cardi for my birthday and I have been rockin’ it every day. Studs are so much fun, right? Check out the studs on these cuffed straight leg jeans. Love studded pockets, too. And since studs stand out, I like to pair them with a simpler top.
Legging: I was actually first introduced to this trend while visiting my best buddy in Cali over Christmas. So cute with a loose tee or funky tunic. She pulls this off well because she has skinny little perfect legs. Not so sure my stubby legs can do it, but hey—I’ll try some on and let you know. They’re way comfier than regular skinny jeans, not to mention lighter weight. Good for warm days ahead.
Bonus Style: You honestly thought I'd stop at three? Yeah, right. Well, I just had to add this great new denim style from KYMARO Curve Control Jeans. Like those magical jeans in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, these jeans make everyone look their best! They work like shapewear, the denim contours to your body, smoothing, shaping and lifting in all the right places. Goodbye muffin-top, hello sleekness!
So that does it. My three + faves. Oh, how I love retail therapy!
