Top Picks: Fall Boots for Any Budget

Can’t believe how crazy busy this month has been! It hasn’t slowed down for a second. Every time I turn around there’s something else to be done or someone else to visit. Or a great sale to hit up. New jeans to be worn. A handbag to break-in.

Even now I have about a zillion things to do! (Of course, I did find a few moments to sift through the new Google Chrome artist themes. I’m currently sporting Sigerson Morrison as inspiration for this very article.)

Busy as things are at the moment, I haven’t shirked my research. So let’s get right to it, shall we? Behold, my fall boot top picks for any budget:

Ankle Boots: I love ankle boots. I love them with skirts. I love them with skinny jeans. I love funky colored ankle boots paired with a coordinating handbag. I love how they can easily fit under my passenger seat so I can change into them on the way to the movies.
$$$:  How chic are these pull-on Sigerson Morrison pumps? That little bow on the heel is so cute! In a completely different style, but equally hip, check out these studded babies from Miu Miu. Great, rich color.
$$:  Say hello to my little purple friends! These boots scream fun, and I’m almost positive I saw a girl wearing them on So You Think You Can Dance this week. I love that they’re flats and so casual.
$:  The slouchy/buckled trend is great and happens to work beautifully with a pair of skinny jeans. These Mudd boots are a cool grey-brown color that will match with everything.

Riding Boots: Perhaps because they are meant to be worn paired with breeches while gliding on shopbop.com a shiny-coated horse, there is something very chic and upper-class about the riding boot. That doesn’t mean you have to be from old money to wear them.
$$$:  I am such a sucker for Burberry. What a great cuff at the top, right? A classic riding boot will never go out of style. My own mother has a pair of riding boots she purchased 20 years ago and continues to wear them with people asking, “Where did you get those?!” She replies, “Oh, Bloomies! In 1988.” (Of course, her shoe care is meticulous.)
$$:  I like the simplicity and height of these Via Spiga riding boots. The chestnut color is very versatile. The style will work with skirts, jeans, dresses; whatever.
$:  The around-the-calf buckle and square toe on these LifeStride riders are great, classy touches. Oh, and they are definitely affordable.

Tall & Extra Tall: As in, over-the-knee. Or at least to-the-knee. Taller than riding boots, anyway. Tall boots add an extra something to a fall/winter ensemble.
$$$:  A pair of metallic suede Jimmy Choo’s—lined with rabbit fur no-less—is basically as high fashion and luxurious as you can get. These Donald J Pliner’s are just as trendy, but very different in style. They are also animal-friendly. And half the price.
$$:  I absolutely adore these over-the-knee distressed Apepazza boots. The leather is gorgeous, the buckle is great and it’s a design that will last for seasons. (Plus, it’s a Rachel Zoe pick and I love her.) And I am dying over these slate Modern Vintage flats! You have the option for over-the-knee, or cuffed. Talk about versatile!
$:  Steve Madden’s grey suede Blondee boots are affordable, comfortable and cute. Unique ruching on the back kicks this boot up a notch in my book.

I hope you have a relaxing weekend planned, full of great boots, hot chocolate and a good read. I’m still trying to finish the new Dan Brown novel—going on four weeks now. Unfortunately, it’s back to work for me. Sigh.

Happy fall, ladies!

xoxo
