Oh, is it that time of year already? Well, maybe not, but I feel fine about jumping the gun and turning my thoughts toward all things fall. Don’t you?

I’ve had a busy month, to say the least. Attended a dear friend’s wedding (in hot heels and great dress), met two new tiny babies, saw Wicked with some girlfriends and, somewhere in all that, became a saleswoman. Yep, I have adopted the title of Scentsy Independent Consultant!

A few weeks ago I tagged along with a girlfriend to a Scentsy party and immediately fell in love with the delicious wickless candles. Hubby is constantly on at me about buying candles and never burning them. He completely ignores my argument for preserving the look of the untouched candle. Turns out, I can now have all of my pretty pristine candles lined up on the mantle while using my new Scentsy warmers to melt Scentsy wax bars, thus filling my home with amazing aromas.

It’s a win-win situation! (Except really I win.)

With my house smelling of Cinnamon Cider and Autumn Sunset, it’s no wonder I have the leafy season on my mind. Constant emails about great houndstooth coats from Bluefly and fab zip skinny jeans from Banana might also be to blame (or thank).

Summer is obviously still in full swing, what with the blistering heat and dead potted plants on my front porch, but one can never be too hasty in planning her fall wardrobe. Fall is scarf season, after all! I personally want to have the best scarves in my fashion arsenal. Oh, cashmere! At the first sign of changing leaves I’ll throw one round my neck, jaunt into the office in all my autumny glory and shout at my haughty, snotty, full-lipped-and-long-legged coworker, “Take that, little miss thing!”

I probably won’t do that. Not the yelling bit, anyway. But I will tell her I forgot where I bought it. Or maybe that it was a gift from my French grand-mère.

Scarves and tangents aside, let’s get down to business. A large part of fall fashion is the great handbag selection and, quite appropriately, I have prepared a collection some of my favorite bags in this fall’s biggest trends.

Rocker Chic: Studded, quilted, zipper-clad; this trend it all about texture and edge. The rock ‘n’ roll trend is big in the Hollywood scene. Just ask LiLo.

Color: Top colors this fall include red, blue, black and grey. Always, always a fall favorite, the red handbag trend never fails to perk up a cloudy or rainy day. Neutrals are also in and pair beautifully with a bold top or skirt.

Animal Prints: Fun and funky. Make a statement with a great leopard print or snakeskin bag. Giraffe print is another fab option. Looks awesome with a red dress.

Feminine Features: Break out the ruffles and bows, ladies. That is, if you’re not the rocker babe type, seeing how this is basically the opposite. Something for everyone, I guess!
