Heavenly Holiday Style & Sparkle
 Happy Holidays, indeed! I can hardly believe 2006 is coming to an end. It's been a year of firsts for yours truly: first anniversary, first kitten, first move as a married woman, etc. etc. etc. Speaking of which—having moved to a new locale as of late, I've been stressing about upcoming holiday parties. Yes, I find myself asking the five W's and an H: Who is the hostess (and who knows what I should bring as a hostess gift)? What will I wear (besides these festive little slingbacks)? Where do I find the perfect lipgloss? Why did said hostess invite me? (Heaven knows I have no clue who the dear woman is—hence aforementioned “who” question.) How did I come to be the recipient of so many lovely party invitations (again, wondering if there was a special news report to announce my all too recent arrival)? And when did I start questioning THAT? I've decided to ignore my journalistic questioning tendencies and simply focus on looking fabulous at upcoming soirées. Well, I've done my research and I've found a myriad of sparkling possibilities! What we girly girls need to make our holidays sparkle:
- Jewelry—natch. Nothing says sparkle like a tennis bracelet and gorgeous earrings. Note: rings always look better when displayed on freshly manicured fingers! These little Orly minis are my new fave—so teeny tiny but packed with a fabulous punch of color.
- Cheek stain to last till dawn.
- Foxy lady lipgloss.
- Positively pearly whites. Few things will make such a dramatic change in your appearance as exquisitely white teeth. Plus this portable little number makes it a snap to whiten your teeth anytime, anywhere.
- Fabulous, fabulous shoes. On the actual day of Christmas my true love gave to me a closet full of Luichiny's (are you reading this, Hubby?)!
- Full on hair masque treatment in preparation for having gorgeous, silky, shiny, envy-of-all-the-belles-at-the-ball hair. Guaranteed.
- Body lotion with holiday shimmer.
- Sexy eyes. Pat some dark(ish) eyeshadow (avoiding “lady of the night” look here) on your lids and dab your inner eye with a highlighter and voilà! Dazzling “sorry boys, she's taken—but feel free to fancy” eyes. Loving my new Défini smooth glide eyeliner! Perfect for the smokey, sexy eyes look. - Easily enviable party dress. We're not settling for LBDs this season, ladies. Make a statement in red—looks smashing on wintry complexions.
- And it just wouldn't be the holidays without a little goodwill. Donate to an altruistic cause—a natural glow is the most beautiful glow of all! Cheesy, I know, but true no less.
I have royally sucked at shopping for gifts this year. So far I've obtained a dazzling new collar and some mousy toys for Stella (though her favorite toy, hands down, is the little plastic loop that seals the lid to the milk carton), a funky man-gadget for Hubby and a gorgeous pair of flats for yours truly—which hardly counts, since I already know they're for me! With mere days left to shop, it's time to buckle down and hit the mall and any sites offering overnight shipping!
