Seasonal Style Sensations

While it is quite clear that autumn is the season of seasons for apparel (as well as accessories, makeup, etc.), I feel obligated to divulge to all you girls my must-have picks for a fabulous fall. After all, being the fashionably unselfish girl that I am I would never keep such valuable information to myself. As they say, imitation is the highest compliment.

So, please: imitate me! I've made up a little list of suggestions (and wants of my own), so read on.

First and foremost, the fall coat. Okay, on second thought, make that plural. You'll need at least one long and one short, and you may consider throwing in a mid-thigh-hitter as well. You never know what length coat an outfit will crave. A great, solid wool pea coat is classic and will be your trusty friend on any chilly day (thinking ahead to those snowy winter evening strolls), though a funkier tweed is making its way into this season's most chic fashions. The trench coat is an outfit in and of itself (don't suggest you wear it that way, however); an easy way to bump up (or tone down) any wardrobe choice. Beauty tip: Luscious lip color will add spice to any fall ensemble.

The sweater: If there is one thing I absolutely love about the fall season (besides all the delectable soup varieties) it is the abundance of gorgeous, cozy sweaters. Okay, sometimes the two categories of gorgeous and cozy don't entirely coincide, but when they do--heaven. Sweaters are great because they come in a multitude of varieties and styles: sexy cardigan, crew neck, vee neck, funky single button, turtleneck and so many more. A personal favorite of mine is the cowl neck. And a dressy sweater is great for a work-to-weekend top. Beauty tip: Nothing can ruin your sophisticated style faster than fright night static hair. Keep those locks lustrous and smooth with Bumble and bumble De-FRIZZ.

The wristwatch: Because of the abundance of amazing new wristwatches this season, I dare noBoden_125x125t leave this category out. Not only can you look fabulous with this beauty of a basic prettifying your wrist, you can blow friends and family alike out of the water with your newfound punctuality. The wristwatch is an incredibly versatile phenomenon--functional and fashionable. Think color, think classy, high fashion, or night on the town. Beauty tip: With everyone ogling your gorgeous new timepiece, be sure to keep your hands in tip-top soft hand-holding condition.

The skirt: Or the skirts. With all the footwear and leg wear available today, the skirt should never be outlawed simply because of chilly outdoor conditions. I love wearing a denim skirt with a pair of warm and fuzzy boots. You can even get away with a corduroy mini, some snuggly warm tights and sassy riding boots. Beauty tip: Your legs will love you for keeping them smooth and silky and maintaining that perky pedi!

A woman's sidekick: Call it what you will, but the handbag can be the most definitive object a woman can carry. A girl's personality can be expressed through her handbag choice. Color is the first obvious selection: red (as in "lady in") is a fabulous color this time of year. A minimalist style bag will work with any outfit and is just, well, classy. Then there's funky-I love the personality in this stunner. Whichever bag you choose, be sure it has plenty of inner (and/or outer, just keep it in perspective) pockets to store your girly necessities.

Accessories: I honestly struggle to fit this into one tiny little category, as it is inherently wrong to do so. But I promised you fall essentials, and actually many of the aforementioned could really be categorized as accessories (in the definitive form). This section will simply try to shovel in a load or two of those things I could not fit in as addendums to the first six categories. Okay, focus because here they come: the layered necklace, toasty cashmere gloves, a sensuous fragrance (apply more liberally in the evenings), the everywhere lip color, various bangles, dangle earrings, the cashmere scarf, and the umbrella. I could go on forever, but the season will not last long enough!

Now go out and enjoy this wonderful season before the snow and rain arrive!

Ta ta, all!
