Quench
It
It's winter, and with all of the hours spent shopping, working and dashing
in and out of hot and cold temperatures, maintaining moisturized skin
is no small feat. Dry, flaky skin seems inevitable this time of year and
if you are like me, you've tried everything on the market to combat and
cure your own 'winter flurries.' Or so you thought. Olay, which is known
for their amazing face lotions (and super-cool institute commercials),
is introducing Quench
Body Lotion. The new Quench will hydrate, renew and replenish our
body's skin to break the cycle of dry skin and leave our skin looking
healthier and more radiant. (I have to admit, that to be called radiant
in the winter months would be a welcome change!)
Since it always helps
to know what we're up against, I did a little investigative Q & A
with the geniuses behind Olay Quench (referred to going forward as GBOQ).
SG:
What is this vicious cycle of dry skin that seems to cripple me and a
slew of other fashionistas each winter?
GBOQ:
In a nutshell, it's a degenerative cycle that is brought on by low humidity
that causes skin to dehydrate. Therefore, disrupting the skin's moisture
barrier creating a frenzy (SG: 'scary!') of skin cell overproduction.
At the same time, the natural renewal process has slowed resulting in
brittle layers of dry, flaky skin. Dry skin inhibits the skin's ability
to hydrate, renew, replenish and repair.
SG:
We all know about those hateful layers that inevitably show up at the
worst moments; i.e. date, party,
interview, at all. How can we break that cycle?
GBOQ:
Quench it - your skin, that is. The unique blend of Quench ingredients
(I won't bore you with the list - but loads of good stuff) addresses the
four factors of the dreaded cycle and work to create a buffer zone around
our skin. (SG: Soooo cool.) The result is a strong impermeable
moisture barrier that will protect skin from future environmental changes,
keeping it hydrated, supple and yes, radiant. Olay Quench prevents dryness
by continuing to strengthen the moisture barrier - with regular use you
can even skip a day.
SG:
Music to my ears. Now, because not all skin types are the same, Olay
Quench developed three different formulas and scents.
Quench for Extra Dry Skin is infused with Shea Butter, with a soothing
vanilla scent.
Quench for Normal/Dry Skin features Chamomile and a light apricot
scent.
Quench for the Sensitive Skin types is formulated with Aloe Vera
and is fragrance free.
So, just match your
skin type to its Quench, get thee to the drugstore and prepare to break
that vicious cycle of dry skin.
